As you traverse the State Highway be it from the direction of pune, aurangabad or shirdi, you reach the milestone, which reads, ‘Ahmednagar: 0 Miles'. Across the road, entering the gates, you find a veritable oasis, a wonderful contrast to the dull landscape so typical of this part of the Deccan plateau. It is a heaven of trees that include the flowering ones, jacaranda, flame of the forest even some sandalwood. This is B.P.H. Education Society's Ahmednagar College located on the south campus in an area of 55 acres, just as the north campus houses the Society's Center for Rural Development and Research, as well as the Institute of Management Studies career Development and Research.
The first Sight one has is of the bust of the Founder, Dr. B.P.Hivale, he was a Ph.D. from Harvard University (1928), and head of the department of philosophy at Wilson College, Bombay. A man of Vision with a tremendous feeling for the poor, he started his college (1947) in a district where none existed so that those could not dream of higher education would have the opportunity to earn a University degree. Dr. T.Barnabas ushered in an era where academic atmosphere prevailed in an era where academic atmosphere prevailed.
The Beautiful Library building is equipped with 2.5 Lakh books, has a rare book room, a museum, archives, and a reference room.
Apart from regular courses in Arts, Science, Computer Studies and Commerce, Starting with junior college, leading up to the doctor level, there are several newly Introduced courses.
